ODTUG Kscope11 Volunteers Painted and Landscaped the Clubhouse of the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach
At Kscope11, we continued the ODTUG tradition of giving back to the community that hosts the ODTUG Kaleidoscope Conference. In 2008, we painted an elementary school in New Orleans. In 2009, we rehabilitated preserved coastal habitat in the Monterey, California area.
On Saturday, June 25, ODTUG volunteers gave five hours of their day painting and landscaping the clubhouse of the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach. There was some minor painting and touch up inside the building, while the majority of the painting took place on the exterior. ODTUGgers impacted the lives of some of Long Beach's youth by making their future a bit brighter and one of their meeting places a bit more welcoming. This was our most ambitious project yet and it was a success!
The Kscope11 Community Service Day was featured in an article in the Signal Tribune Newspaper, a weekly paper for the City of Signal Hill, (which is surrounded by Long Beach) and has a circulation of 25,000. Click here to view the article. Way to go ODTUGgers!
